TRAVEL-TRANSPORT |
* By air
Valencia Internacional Airport is situated at 15 km from the Conference Venue and hotels recommended by the Organization. The airport of Valencia is well connected by regular and low-cost companies with many national and international destinations. Information on companies operating from Valencia can be obtained in the web page http://www.aena.es.
In order to travel from the airport to the Conference Venue or nearby your hotel you can take:
- Metro lines 3 or 5 (1.25 €; http://www.metrovalencia.com), which will bring you to the city center.
- Bus. The Aerobus (2.50 €) brings you from the airport to the city center. Bus line #150 (1.05 €) also connects the airport with the city center.
- Taxi. Taxis are available at the airport and can bring you to the conference venue or to your hotels. Cost from the airport is around 15-22 €.

* By train
Valencia is well connected by fast trains with Barcelona and Madrid and with some international destinations. Fast trains to Valencia depart from Sants railway station (Barcelona) and Atocha railway station (Madrid). Both railway stations are connected by railway (Barcelona) and metro (Madrid) to the airports. More information on train connections can be obtained in the web page http://www.renfe.es. It is recommended to purchase the fast train tickets in advance.
* By bus
Many bus companies connect Valencia with other Spanish cities and international destinations. The most important company with international destinations connecting Valencia is Eurolines (http://www.eurolines.com), but many others exist.
* By road
Valencia can be reached easily by road by means of the AP-7 highway (from Barcelona in the north or Alicante in the south) or the A-3 highway (from Madrid). You can consult online route planners (e.g., http://www.viamichelin.com) for route planning.
* By sea
There are several ferries that connect Majorca, Minorca and Ibiza islands with Valencia. Most important companies are Acciona (http://www.trasmediterranea.es), Balearia (http://www.balearia.com), and Iscomar (http://www.iscomar.com).
* Public transport in Valencia

* Transport from the hotels to the congress venue
A shuttle bus service to the congress venue will be available for those staying at the hotels recommended by the Organization, which are listed in the “Accomodation” reservation form. The University residence is at walking distance from the congress venue.

1. Language
The official language of the conference will be English. No translation facilities will be available..
2. Internet
One computers room (room 2.14, situated in the second floor of the Congress building) with Internet connection will be available for participants in the congress.
For participants having a portable computer and belonging to an institution affiliated to Eduroam (see http://www.eduroam.org), wi-fi connection will be possible free of charge. See instructions at:

3. Bank and currency exchange
The currency of Spain is the Euro. Delegates may withdraw money from ATM machines with their credit cards or change foreign currency and travellers’ cheques at the airport upon arrival, at banks located in the University and all around the city, and in most hotels. International credit cards are accepted for payment in hotels, restaurants and shops.
4. Visa/Passport
Citizens from the European Union and the Schengen agreement countries do not need a visa to enter Spain. Visas are not required either for citizens from several other countries, like Australia, Canada, Israel, Japan, New Zealand, or United States. A list of countries requiring visa to enter into Spain can be obtained from the web page of the Spanish Ministry of Foreign Affairs (http://www.mae.es/en/Home). In case you need a visa, please contact the Spanish embassy or Consulate in your country for visa details and entry requirements.
5. Letter of invitation
An official letter of invitation will be sent by the Conference Secretariat upon request to facilitate raising of funds or a visa for attending the Conference. However, such invitations will not offer payments of any expenses, such as the registration fee, or the hotel accommodation.
If an official invitation is necessary for you to obtain a visa to attend the meeting, you must register for the meeting and pay the registration fees in advance.
6. Exhibition
The Organizing Committee is pleased to invite exhibitors to display products or services that may be of interest to participants in the Congress. If you are interested in an exhibition, please contact the Organizing Committee (eucarpia@upvnet.upv.es).
7. Conference meals and refreshments
Lunches for Wednesday 10 and Thursday 11 of September are included in the registration fee. The gala dinner (Thursday 11 of September) and reception (Tuesday 9 September) is also included in the registration fee. Transport will be provided for the participants from the hotels and university residence to the restaurant for the gala dinner. Participants will receive their lunch and gala dinner tickets together with their documents at registration on site. Coffee breaks are also included in the conference package..
8. Registration & Information desk
The registration & Information desk will be located at the entrance level of the Congress Hall. All conference documents will be handed out at the registration desk. Opening times will be as follows:
- Tuesday 9: 10:00-20:00 h
- Wednesday 10: 8:00-20:00 h
- Thursday 11: 8:00-14:00 h
- Friday 12: 8:00-14:00 h
9. Delegate identification
Admission to scientific sessions and other events is permitted only to those wearing the official conference badge.
10. Clothing, weather and miscellaneous information
Valencia is situated in the eastern coast of Spain and has a Mediterranean climate. Weather at the first half of September is usually warm with a lot of sunshine during the days and pleasant evenings. However, occasional showers may occur at this time of the year.
Electricity supply is 220 V.
