Evaluation for resistance to diseases and quality parameters are performed in close collaboration with the different COMAV´s research groups. Inoculation trials are performed for: Tomato spotted wilt virus (TSWV), Tomato yellow leaf curl virus (TYLCV), Tomato mosaic virus (ToMV), Pepino mosaic virus (PepMV), and Parietaria mosaic virus (PMV) in tomato. In pepper trials are conducted for Pepper mottle Virus (PepMoV), Tobacco etch virus (TEV), Potato virus Y (PVY), and Cucumber mosaic virus (CMV). In melon it has been assessed the resistance to soil pathogens, such as Monoporascus cannonballus and Acremonium cucurbitacearum. With regard to quality parameters there are conducted assays to test the components or organoleptic and nutritional quality in tomato, pepper, eggplant, melon and different species of Cucurbita genus.
